Job Description

-TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION PLEASE EMAIL YOUR RESUME TO BUILDINGSERVICES@NIU.EDU -Under direct supervision of a Building Services Foreman and/or Sub-Foreman. perform the necessary custodial work to meet and maintain Building Services high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Duties would include but are not limited to the general cleaning of offices, classrooms, lobbies, lounges, stairwells and landings. Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and locker rooms on campus. This includes sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning toilets, urinals and sinks, mirrors and windows both inside and out. Vacuuming and cleaning carpets. Maintain soap and paper supplies each day. Empty trash containers into the appropriate receptacles throughout campus. Cleaning with pressure washers as assigned. Assisting with and/or performing miscellaneous related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

-TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION PLEASE EMAIL YOUR RESUME TO BUILDINGSERVICES@NIU.EDU -Be enrolled for 6 or more hours during the Fall and Spring semesters- Undergraduate minimum GPA of 2.0 cumulative, Graduate 3.0 GPA cumulative. - May work a maximum of 20 hours per week during the semester -Student workers may be required to work at least one weekend day per week -Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee -This position is designated security sensitive. In compliance with the Illinois Campus Security Act, before an offer of employment is made, the University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation which includes a criminal background check.

Pay Rate: $ 10.50

-TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION PLEASE EMAIL YOUR RESUME TO BUILDINGSERVICES@NIU.EDU -Since student workers have limited work hours we do not want students to work in other departments while working for Building Services. We would like you to work solely for Building Services. We will take student schedules into consideration and accommodate these schedules as much as possible but we would prefer you to work at least a 4 hour shift when working. Student workers may be required to work at least one weekend day per week.
