Department: Holmes Student Center Guest Services Employment Type: Regular Employment Only Job Starts: May 01, 2017 Work Type: Service
Under the general supervision of the Guest Services Manager, the person in this position is responsible for multiple facets of an assigned area of the Holmes Student Center. Some of these responsibilities include opening/closing contracted rooms, constantly checking for safety issues or security breaches, checking to see if offices and hotel rooms are properly secured, ensuring that room contracts are being fulfilled and reporting any issues to the nightly shift supervisor in a timely fashion. This person will also be called upon to assist with crowd control, building emergencies, alcohol postings, escorts and other duties as assigned. This individual comes in direct contact with the public on a regular basis and is expected to be polite and courteous at all times. The position requires knowledge of the Holmes Student Center and all pertinent building policies and procedures.
Applicants Must Be:
-Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at NIU.
-Willing and able to work alone late at night for up to 5 hours.
-Willing and able to work a 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM (or later) shift.
-Willing and able to work the majority of weekend nights (Friday/Saturday) during any given month.
-Willing and able to interact and engage with the general public in order to deliver customer service.
-Willing and able to engage/confront groups of people to address issues.
Pay Rate: $ $8.25
