Job Description

The Holmes Student Center Operations Crew is the backbone of HSC Event Services. In addition to setting up and breaking down the venue, the Operations Crew provides primary assistance to organization members, performers, and guests in and around the event area. We provide access control, including ticket scanning, ID checks, wrist banding, pat downs, bag checks and metal detector screening, as well as crowd management to ensure the venue is safe for guests. Staff is required to have a thorough knowledge of both event specific and building-wide policies and procedures in order to provide guests with directions or other needed information to ensure a safe and fun environment for all guests, staff, and performers. Staff members are expected to act upon all comments/complaints in a prompt and friendly manner and also assist HSC staff and host group to maintain compliance with the On-Campus Social Events Policy. The Holmes Student Center Operations Crew is seeking motivated individuals interested in advancement.

Job Requirements

• Ability to work nights and weekends, including those with high staffing requirements • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds • Friendly and personable demeanor • Ability to remain calm in an emergency situation • Good communication skills • Ability to work effectively under pressure • Must be enrolled for at least 9 credit hours • GPA of 2.0 or better • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred

Pay Rate: $ 8.25/hr
