JOB DESCRIPTION:
TRAINING IS REQUIRED after your initial interview.
*Contact your assigned students to schedule a tutorial appointment.
*Tutor your students on course content, study skills and help build academic confidence. One hour sessions up to 3 hours per week per student.
*Follow through on missed tutorial appointments and verify future sessions.
*Establish clear lines of communication with students, PAL Assistant Director and other NIU staff as needed.
*Maintain accurate and complete tutoring paperwork.
*Maintain confidentiality regarding tutoring relationship.
*Participate in regular meetings.

*NIU UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY
This includes ONLY Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors--
(Freshmen will be considered if they have previous tutoring experience).

Good communication skills and willingness to help other students become stronger academically.
