Job Description

The REACH (Retention Effort for All in Coming Huskies) program is supported by First- and Second-Year Experience. REACH aims to provide resources, information, and advice to aid in Northern Illinois University first-year students’ adjustment and transition to the campus. Through the REACH program, trained upper-class students call first-year NIU students who have potential characteristics that would put them at risk of leaving the university before the second year. Job Description: REACH callers will contact first semester NIU students assisting them in their transition into NIU. Callers will talk to students about their transition, academics, student life, campus involvement, etc. REACH callers help students locate resources, connect with student organizations and provide information and advice to assist first semester students in making a successful transition to NIU. REACH callers have the opportunity to: ? Gain significant communication skills while enhancing employment marketability and career opportunities ? Develop professional relationships with faculty, staff, and other students

Job Requirements

Applicants must have the following requirements to be considered: Minimum 2.5 GPA Campus Involvement At least 1 full year at NIU NIU staff/faculty reference

Pay Rate: $ $8.25
