RESPONSIBILITIES

The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating academic year off campus class instruction, tutoring, and counseling sessions and Saturday enrichment activities (one Saturday per month).

This is a part-time (20-15 hrs. per week), temporary (extra help) position and will start immediately. Program activities take place Monday – Thursday afternoons and early evenings.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or related academic area and at least 2 years of experience working with middle or high school students. Must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact with high school students who represent a cross-section of minority groups and are frequently first generation college attendees who also demonstrate a wide range of academic skill levels. Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving the university vehicle to Rockford and Aurora, Il.

PREFERRED SKILLS

M.S. degree in counseling, education or related academic area. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
